The Santo Domingo Colonial Fest (CFEST) is a celebration to commemorate the culture, cuisine, and history of the Dominican Republic, creating awareness and appreciation of the Dominican authenticity and idiosyncrasy.

This festival celebrates the First City of America with cultural activities that last a full weekend. In three days you can enjoy music, theater plays, artistic performances and culinary offerings.

Since 2012 it has been meeting ground for Dominican families in the Colonial City. All kinds of people with different artistic tastes converge in a single event.

The festival represents recreation, fun, enjoy the outdoors, quality time with family and friends. The sentiment behind is how special Santo Domingo for being the first city in the New World and the cultural and historical baggage that entails.

Another important aspect of Santo Domingo Colonial Fest is to promote historical knowledge of the city, through buildings, museums and monuments to colonial times. At these points, they are carried out activities such as parades of traditional costumes of the sixteenth century, living statues and presentations dressed as characters from the history of Santo Domingo.
